Monroe Jones (also known as DJ Nevermelt) is an easygoing DJ who seems perpetually plagued by bad luck with money, and is constantly in need of some cash, whether quick or slow. Not bothered by much, he is usually a voice of reason, if also apparent disinterest and ambivalence. His DJ name came from his general iciness during performances--focused on his music, he barely notices the crowd.
Interested more in money and concrete, usable resources than ideals and abstracts, he prefers to withdraw from conflicts rather than embroil himself in them. While empathetic enough, he rarely expresses it through anything but action, and tends to expect due compensation for any favors granted or efforts undertaken.
Portable speakers mean he's usually not hard to find--intent on finding the perfect backing track to any given Pokemon battle.
Pokémon[edit | edit source]
Bass, the Voltorb[edit | edit source]
Lv. 5, Genderless, Relaxed. Knows Tackle, Sonic Boom, and Charge.
Bass was acquired by strange circumstance; in one of his earlier shows, an accounting error revealed after the fact that the venue - an old, dingy warehouse--didn’t have the adequate compensation for his performance. The only concrete collateral they had to offer was some of the previous owners’ junk, laying around the warehouse’s corners… which turned out to hold a surprisingly-unbothered Voltorb, lying under a pile of extension cords. He took the Pokemon on, and by the time the venue had gathered the required money to repay him, he had formed an odd attachment to the laid-back little ball--preferring to leave the venue with its cash, and continue on with the forgotten Voltorb.
